You are invited to the 2010 MIFFS annual Harvest Celebration Local Food Dinner and Benefit Auction on September 30
August 12, 2010: You are invited to the Michigan Food & Farming Systems (MIFFS) Annual Harvest Celebration Local Food Dinner on Thursday, September 30, 2010 from 6-9 p.m. to commemorate another year with good friends and great, local food at the Lakeview Banquet and Event Center, 5942 Round Lake Road, in Laingsburg. Register online now!

Come to enjoy a dinner prepared by Morton’s Fine Catering featuring local foods, fresh from the harvest, and the company of friends as MIFFS celebrates the hard work and fruits of Michigan farmers this season. Agriculture is shining a bright spot on this state’s future, which is certainly something to take pride in and honor this harvest season!
This year’s event will also include a silent auction featuring food and farming goods and services from our state’s great wealth of agricultural diversity. Support us by bidding on silent auction items or donating a fully tax-deductible product, service or experience, like harvest baskets with Michigan-grown fruits, veggies or meats, farm tours, gift certificates or a free consultation or service from your business or organization. Proceeds from the auction and dinner will sustain MIFFS’ future programming to serve small- and mid-size farms and promote sustainable agriculture and local food. Please contact Emily Beutel at buckhame@msu.edu or 517-432-0712 for more information about donating items or services for the auction.
Our work would not be possible without partnerships and collaborations, so we owe many thanks to those who share our vision and are continually striving to accomplish good works. We will be recognizing a special “Farmer of the Year”, “Business of the Year” and “Legislator of the Year” to say a special thank you to the individuals and groups who help MIFFS achieve our mission to serve small and mid-size family farms in Michigan.
Tickets for the event are $75 per person, and a portion of that price is tax-deductible. Table sponsorships are also available so that families, farms and businesses can reserve a special table and eight seats for the event for $500 – a $50 savings. You can also sponsor the event at various levels and get recognition in upcoming media and signage at the event.
Please contact the MIFFS office at (517) 432-0712 or miffs@msu.edu for more information.
See you there!
